Crap

September 17, 2006 12:32 pm

Its hardly a decent beginning especially when I haven’t blogged for an entire month.

Thats the exact state of things. More and more pressures on the work front I am sure it has changed me. The people that I am happy with in the office and form the main crux of my friends may be relocated to another lab. That is supreme bad news. From full interaction to no interaction. god damn that sucks.

Issues with TOH as well. I am not quite sure where that would head.

Tired

August 20, 2006 11:57 am

For the past week, I have been feeling too tired to blog. Partly it was because TOH was down with flu and infection so didn’t have any spare ouch of energy for the earlier part of the week.

Things are pretty intensitve at work as well, with the project building up towards a delivery. According to the pm, it is highly unlikely that I would be able to get away in December. So much for giving us leave, cant leave the country when I want to anyway.

My old fujitsu laptop has just reported a 3rd crack in the same place over the last 4 years or so. I have gone through 2 changes and recently it just cracked again. I highly doubt that its due to my handling more than I just use the laptop more extensively than others. Its gonna cost some to change the laptop and I think I am going to leave it as it is.

So many things I want to do but the most important point of all is to take things at a step.

We were once interns

August 12, 2006 8:14 pm

NCS was our common point. It has been two years since our internship. Those days were spent vigorously testing whatever system we were assigned to. Every lunch was spent at the foos-ball table, I think we spent like $10 per person while we were there. After some long email planning, we finally met for lunch at Vila’ge, which kicked Marche out of its place in Heeren. Talk about being ill-informed, I didn’t even know that Marche was gone.

Everyone’s doing quite well now. One of us is about to receive a master in logistics, 2 are working in an Investment bank, 2 just came back from NUS NOC. Wow Its just been a year apart but you can tell that both Silicon Valley and the Europe NOC have really changed their outlook of life. Jason and Nick are brimming with entrepreneurship and you can sense that they are raring to go. Need to hang out with them more.

If someone said that I was hungry for success, it really pales in comparison to Jason, henceforth known as the person most likely to make it big in the next five years. I always feel very inspired when I hang around people who thirst for success. I need to make it a point to drop into Jason’s office soon to discuss some ideas. (How cool is that? He even has his own office and funds!)

Most of us have made the transition into the working world. Interestingly both Melvin and another Jason are taking the CFA exams too, now I have someone to ask in case I run into problems. CFA exams are fast becoming a norm for people working in the Industry so I guess its good that I have made up my mind to go for it.

Maggie insisted I sign up for this the other day just to see if this actually works. I am not sure how valid this is, but if you guys want to hop on to the bandwagon. You can try the link. The basic premise is like a paid advertisement think, reading it gets you paid a certain amount

Its Buzzing!

August 11, 2006 11:59 pm

It seems the work compound is getting livelier! Its been a long time since I last saw Pauline but she recently joined a said military outfit thats about to privatise and hence working in the same department as Janice. Its good to have uni friends working near you because eating with your colleagues every other day can be pretty boring. I believe in having different lunch groups, my clique, my bizad friends and what nots. Anyhow as August is the danger month with many birthdays, I treated Janice and Pauline to lunch rather than to go thru the trouble of getting a gift :p

Since I cant figure out how to protect haolf a post, I will have to leave the work related stuff in a separate post later on. Caught Jaron’s final performance as a choir performance at the Esplanade Recital studio with TOH and her NIE bunch of friends. When a group of teachers meet up for a gathering, you can be sure that all that they talk about is work work and more work. :p

Anyhow he is quitting the choir because he is going to dedicate the next half a year to preparing for a bridge tournament. Who knows? I am pretty interested with the notion and I may take part along with them later. It turns out that most of the guys present last night were interested in it.

Renyu’s starting work next wk so hopefully I get to see another familiar face around.

IF.

August 8, 2006 12:40 am

you were given the opportunity to work for a money laundering operation with zero liability if you get caught. It might be some drug syndicate or con artistes trying to recycle their money.

How many of you willing to do it to get some money?

Its big bucks, how big a part will where the money originates from play in your consideration.

Or is money ultimate.

Your views please, as comments and I will give my own.

First MEME

You Are a Phoenix
Driven and ambitious, you tend to acquire material success easily.
You have grand schemes – both for your own life and for changing the whole world.
You are a great leader, and you have no problem taking the reigns.
However, you aren’t all business. You also have great talents for performing and visual arts.

What Mythological Creature Are You?

Big Uncle is watching

August 7, 2006 10:51 pm

Have anyone realized that the buses lately have all been installed with electronic cameras within the bus. I saw one bus with the cameras in action last night. 3 cameras allow the bus captains to see what goes on within the premise of the bus clearly one 1 more act as his rear view mirror.

I tried to take a photo of the monitor but it turned out too small on my phone. If you board the bus in future, its on the top right hand of the bus driver.

Dont hanky panky in public anymore! Big Uncle is watching.
